Follow-up and actions of fight against the turning into a desert in the European Mediterranean area.
- "Desertnet" allowed the creation of a network of pilot projects intended
to initiate a process of homogenisation of the methods based on the
comparison of the experiments in several areas. This network was concretized
in the development of an operating platform which allowed the creation of a
data base concerning the methods, the models and the data available in the
areas partners. This structure should also allow, in the future, a simpler
management of the activities and collaborations in the projects or other
activities.
- It will indeed constitute the point of reference for the most adopted and
shared methods. From the future point of view, the partners commit
themselves promoting the operating platform grace, in particular, with the
increase in the number of users. This widening should make platform a
virtual place of division of knowledge while inserting, in addition to its
users, the National Committees of Fight against the Turning into a desert.

| Objectives | - "Desertnet" is interested in the study, the follow-up and the durable management of the surfaces at the risk of turning into a desert within the Mediterranean basin. The project aims at carrying out a rationalization of information and experiments technico-scientists acquired and worked out for the surfaces at the risk individualized by the regional and national programs. An operating platform, a network of pilot projects and users, and an interregional observatory for the fight against the turning into a desert, will be created in order to contribute to the realization of a homogeneous system for the exchange of the data and information and for the control of the processes of turning into a desert. | ||
