The Ninth Water Information Summit (WIS9): "Information in an Age of Water Insecurity: the Roles of Networking, Education, and Technology"
The WaterWeb Consortium announces the Ninth Water Information Summit (WIS9) which will be held in West Palm Beach, Florida on June 5-7, 2007. This years summit will be hosted by the South Florida Water Management District in cooperation with the Inter-American Water Resources Network (IWRN), UNESCO, and UNEP.
The theme for this years Summit is "Information in an Age of Water Insecurity: the Roles of Networking, Education, and Technology".
Population growth, economic development, and the potential impacts for future climatic change increasing has stressed available water supplies. The uneven geographic distribution of water resources challenge water policy makers, planners, and managers to provide secure water supplies for their populations. How can water information contribute to increase water security?
