Event 4th International Symposium Huber Technology 2007: Water Supply and Sanitation for All

The water supply and sanitation infrastructures we now use are originally invented decades ago in water rich countries. Nowadays, climate change, the growth of the world's population, migration and urbanization will force us to reconsider these infrastructures. Can the 'old' infrastructures and treatment processes be applied in regions that differ completely from the regions in which they were originally invented? When water becomes a limited resource why should we adhere to the concept of flushing and discharge? Aren’t there more intelligent and more ecologically sound ways of dealing with the precious resource “water”? Are water authorities, city planners and architects ready to accept solutions different from those written in text books?

These questions will lead to open and controversial discussions in this fourth Huber Symposium.
