INNOVA-MED "Innovative processes and practices for wastewater treatment and re-use in the Mediterranean region" Course - Innovative processes and practices for wastewater treatment and re-use

The FP6 project INNOVA-MED aims at coordinating research activities in the field of water treatment and reuse in the Mediterranean region. Topical experts groups will identify proved methodologies for water and sludge quality assessment and monitoring as well as innovative technologies and processes for water reclamation and sludge reduction, treatment and disposal. Efforts in communication and knowledge transfer and use will be crystallised in a centralised information facility and series of specialised courses aiming to increase capacity building in Mediterranean partners Countries.

This course aims at disseminating the results of research carried out within different programmes within European Research Area and also national activities in the Mediterranean region (Mediterranean Partner Countries – MPC). The objective is to facilitate the communication with researchers and national and regional institutions from the MPC and allow a broad dissemination and transfer of the knowledge/technology/practice to the Mediterranean area.. The particular focus is on innovative technologies developed for wastewater treatment, treatment and disposal of sludge, application of innovative practices for re-use of reclaimed water. It is thus expected that the participants will gain extensive knowledge on this techniques with possible ideas of implementation.

The course will be broadcast live through the Distance Education Centre of Ankara University on the web site: http://tva.ankara.edu.tr Thus, anybody who might be interested will be able to follow the lectures, and ask questions on-line. The technical infrastructure will also allow us to conduct a video
conference in the course of the event, should there be a need of participation from any of the home laboratories of INNOVA-MED.
