Event The first meeting of the network of Joint Managing Authorities of ENPI CBC Programmes and a Seminar on the ‘First call for proposals of ENPI CBC Programmes – Results and lessons learned’

The EU-funded INTERACT ENPI CBC is organising the first meeting of the network of Joint Managing Authorities of ENPI CBC Programmes and a Seminar on the ‘First call for proposals of ENPI CBC Programmes - Results and lessons learned'.

An announcement said both events, to take place on 19 and 20 May 2010 in Brussels, are targeted to the Heads of the Joint Managing Authorities of all ENPI CBC Programmes, as well as to the responsible staff persons of the operational section.

The launching event of the ENPI CBC JMA Network offers a forum for Managing Authorities to share the current issues and challenges of programme implementation in the ENPI CBC programmes.  The working method of the meeting will include open discussions and brainstorming sessions.

The seminar of the first call for proposalsshould contribute to supporting programmes in concluding the ongoing first call for proposals, but also providing inputs for improving their documents and procedures prior to the launching of future calls. The event will combine up-front plenary sessions with interactive working group sessions.

Cross-Border Cooperation (CBC) reinforces cooperation between regions of EU Member States and Partner Countries on EU's external borders.

CBC is a key priority of the EU's European Neighbourhood Policy. It covers countries of Eastern Europe, the Southern Caucasus and the Southern Mediterranean with a budget of over €1.1 billion. CBC supports sustainable development along both sides of the EU's external borders, to improve differences in living standards across these borders, and to address the challenges arising from the proximity between regions on both sides of the land and sea borders. The four key objectives include: economic and social development, addressing common challenges, ensuring efficient and secure borders and people-to-people cooperation.
