Dear Madam, Dear Sir, Dear Friends,

I remind those of you, who have not yet registered, that the next 9th World General Assembly of the International Network of Basin Organizations - INBO - will take place in Fortaleza in Brazil from 13 to 16 August 2013, at the invitation of the National Water Agency (ANA) and the Brazilian Network of Basin Organizations (REBOB).

The meeting is open to all INBO Member Organizations and Observers, and also to all the water Administrations and organizations or NGOs, interested in Integrated Water Resources Management at the level of river basins over the world.

You are invited to come and present your field experience.

Your presence would be very much appreciated.

There will be simultaneous translation into English, French, Portuguese and Spanish.

Prior registration to the World General Assembly of INBO is free of charge but compulsory.

The World General Assembly of Fortaleza will be organized around large strategic topics to ensure, in the basins of local, national or transboundary rivers, lakes and aquifers, the necessary implementation of programs for facing large global challenges that are essentially population growth, food and energy demand or adaption to the effects of Climate Change, which will be dealt with in five round tables:

• Institutional frameworks for action of the Basin Organizations.
• Adaptation to the effects of climate change and prevention of extreme phenomena of floods and droughts.
• Participation of local authorities, water users and the public, role of the basin committees.
• Management of transboundary rivers, lakes and aquifers.
• Financing of water management and of basin organizations.

You will arrive at Fortaleza international airport. Practical information on transportation to your hotel will be sent to you later on.

I would advise you to arrive on Monday 12 August 2013 and, if your agenda allows it, to leave on Saturday 17 or Sunday 18 August 2013.

.Our Brazilian hosts will take charge of the shuttles and local travels in the Fortaleza area, of the technical visit, together with lunches and dinners, from Tuesday 13 August evening to Friday 16 August noon included.

Unfortunately, INBO cannot take charge of your air travel expenses and hotel accommodation.

PLEASE NOTE:

Finally, I remind you that the nationals of several countries will need an entry visa to Brazil and possibly an entry visa for the "European Schengen Area" (if you arrive through a European airport) which must be obtained before your departure from your country.
