11th INTERNATIONAL"EUROPE-INBO 2013" CONFERENCE on the current and future implementation of the European Water Framework Directive
From 13 to 16 November 2013, Plovdiv (Bulgaria)
In the new context established last year by the "Blueprint to safeguard Europe's Waters" of the European Commission, this meeting will be organized around five roundtables on current implementation of the EU-WFD River Basin Management Plans, the implementation of the EU Flood Directive, strategies to cope with scarcity and droughts and, in general, measures to be introduced for adaptation of water resources management to the effect of the climate changes, etc. The meeting is open to all INBO member organizations and observers, and also to the water administrations and organizations, interested in the implementation of the Water Framework Directive, and its “Daughter Directives” and related directives, of the member and candidate countries of the European Union and of all the other countries of Eastern Europe, the Balkans, Caucasus and Central Asia and of the Mediterranean basin. There will be simultaneous translation into English, French and Bulgarian.

INBO World General Assembly 2013
12-16 August 2013, Fortaleza-Ceara (Brazil)
From 13 to 16 August 2013, 319 delegates coming from 49 Countries, representatives of governmental administrations in charge of water management, of Basin Organizations, already existing or being created, and from interested bilateral and multilateral institutions, research centers and associations, met in Fortaleza in Brazil, for the ninth World General Assembly of the International Network of Basin Organizations (INBO).

This 2nd meeting will aim at finalizing the working road map in line with the overarching objectives of the Initiative as defined at the 1st meeting of 27-28 March 2013. INBO and UNESCO are facilitating the working group on basin management.

∎ First International Environment Forum for Basin Organizations
26-28 November 2014, Bangkok (Thailand)
The first Forum will be organized in close cooperation with the International Network of Basin Organizationsand the Royal Thai Government. It will be a platform for basin organizations - as well as for relevant stakeholders such as international financial institutions, secretariats of multilateral environmental conventions and other UN agencies - so that they can work together to improve transboundary basin governance and management, taking better into account and incorporating environmental aspects.
