Vacancy at new UN-Water office in Bonn

The successful candidate will be the founding director. He/she is expected to take up the appointment as soon as possible. Excellent professional background, inspiring leadership, conceptual thinking and strong management skills are essential to operate in a collaborative international environment. He/she is responsible for the conception, planning, organization, implementation and administration of the activities of the Office. The Director of UN-WADOC prepares the biennial work plan for the approval of UN-Water. He/she reports to the Chair of UN-Water concerning matters related to programme implementation and receives guidance from UN-Water directly. He/she works under the institutional authority of the Rector of UNU and in close consultation with his/her local representative. He/she will pursue active cooperation with other entities under the purview of UN-Water (World Water Assessment Programme, Perugia; Italy, UN-Water Decade Office on Awareness Raising, Zaragoza, Spain) and with the members of UN-Water.
