5th IWHA Conference: Deadline for submission of abstract extended to 31 January 2007

The deadline for the submission of abstracts for the 5th IWHA Conference on ‘Past and Futures of Water’ has been extended until 31 January 2007. The conference, which is supported by International Hydrological Programme (IHP), will take place in Tampere, Finland, on 13-17 June 2007 and is organized by the International Water History Association (IWHA), the Department of History of the University of Tampere (Finland), and the Institute of Environmental Engineering and Biotechnology (IEEB) of the Tampere University of Technology (TUT, Finland). The conference addresses diverse topics related to water history and future, and will provide an excellent opportunity for scholars and practitioners from a variety of disciplines and different parts of the world to meet and discuss the many fascinating aspects of water history. The major themes of the conference are: water and cities, water, health and sanitation, water, food and economy, water history and the future of humanity.
