New Head of BfG's Department M4 (Geoinformation and Remote Sensing) and new Head of the Global Runoff Data Centre (GRDC)
After having served as Head of GRDC since July 2000, already in April 2006, Dr Thomas Maurer took the chance of internal reorganisations at BfG to be promoted to Head of BfG's Department M4 (Geoinformation and Remote Sensing) which also encompasses the Global Runoff Data Centre (GRDC) since then. Recently, i.e. effective from March 2007, he changed his position again and became Head of BfG's Department M2 (Water Balance, Forecasting and Predictions). Since then he is not longer formally connected with GRDC. His new coordinates are:

From, 10 April 2007, operations of GRDC will be directed by the new Head of GRDC, Mr Ulrich Looser (looser@bafg.de), who until recently was responsible for the management of the South African National Water Quality Database at the Department of Water Affaires and Forestry, SA. While Mr Looser "inherits" the GRDC phone number, make sure to change name and email address in your address databases. His full coordinates are:
