Nomination of the new Secretary General of Businessmed

Following BUSINESSMED annual Ordinary General Assembly, Mrs Shéhérazade Berrehouma has been appointed Secretary General of the Union of Mediterranean Confederations of Enterprises – BUSINESSMED. Mrs Berrehouma took up her position on March 10th, 2009.

BUSINESSMED is a regional professional Organisation representing the South Mediterranean private sector. BUSINESSMED includes within its network 24 employer federations as founder, associated and observer members from the Mediterranean region and from EU member States: CGEA-Algeria, OEB-Cyprus, FEI-Egypt, MAI-Israël, JCI-Jordan, ALI-Lebanon, MFOI-Malta, CGEM-Morocco, PFI-Palestine, FSCC and ICC-Syria, UTICA-Tunisia, TUSIAD and TISK-Turkey, MEDEF-France, BDA-Germany, SEV-Greece, CNPM-Mauritania, Confindustria-Italy, AIP-Portugal, SAE-Serbia and CEOE-Spain.

BUSINESSMED aims at achieving a commonly agreed action by the professional organisations with the national governments and the business communities. It also aims at implementing policies that enhance the transition towards market economy in optimal conditions for the member countries and promoting exchange between South-Mediterranean enterprises, EU member States and the rest of the world.
