International Finance Corporation (IFC) seeking Senior Water and Sanitation Professional

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector investment arm of the World Bank Group, pursues its mission of reducing poverty and improving people’s lives by promoting private sector development through investment and advisory services.

IFC is now accepting applications from experienced water professionals to support expansion of our global sustainable water investment and advisory business.

Working as part of a network of specialized sustainable energy and water professionals based at regional hubs in Turkey and India, as well as in IFC country offices in Africa, Latin America, and East Asia, the successful candidate will bring at least 8 years of technical and market expertise in energy efficiency, renewable energy, cleaner production, and water and sanitation access and efficiency.

The Senior Water Specialist will support market development by leveraging IFC’s investment capabilities, global presence and comparative advantage to mobilize private sector investment in water access and sanitation. The Water Specialist will manage a portfolio of technology demonstration, market transformation, and investment support programs globally. (S)he will also provide technical and market expertise to support and advise IFC investment and advisory staff and IFC clients and provide strategic guidance to the Corporation in areas of water-related risk, climate adaptation, and enhanced water and sanitation services and access. The Senor Water Specialist will assist IFC regional departments in developing strategies and building staff capacity to support sustainable water market development. (S)he will also provide global knowledge management tools and resources to support the growth and effectiveness of IFC’s global operations in the sector.
A proven track record of demonstrated impact in the water sector is a key criterion for selection to this team. While the position is intended to be based out of either New Delhi or Istanbul, the position would be global in scope.
