News Guardians of Water: EuroMed Heritage project in Morocco and Tunisia

The use of water touches at theheart of Mediterranean civilisation, a living memory of society'srelationship with its environment.  Yet water heritage is staringextinction in the face, buckling under the pressures of development anddemographic change.  

In the face of this threat, REMEE,a project funded by the European Union as part of the Euro-Med HeritageIV programme, is working to mobilise local communities throughactivities that aim to restore and raise awareness.  

This is part of a series of featureson projects funded by the EU's Regional Programme, prepared byjournalists and photographers on the ground or the ENPI Info Centre.
