ARD, Inc., a Tetra Tech company, is currently accepting applications from potential Chief of Party candidates interested in building the capacity of a government IT unit and establishing water information systems in Jordan. Activity will be based in Amman, Jordan. 

Requirements include:

  • Master’s degree or PhD or equivalent training/experience in information technology, computer 
    science or related field; 
  • Experience managing projects that are focused on information systems, especially those related to water information systems and/or water utilities and/or government decision support services;
  • Considerable experience managing IT project/program implementation;
  • Experience managing highly technical and culturally diverse teams;
  • Previous experience as USAID Chief of Party or Deputy Chief of Party preferred;
  • Extensive geographic experience in the Middle East;
  • Excellent speaking, presentation, and writing skills; and
  • Proficiency in Arabic expected.

    Duties include:

  • Providing leadership, supervision and direction to the project’s field implementation team and additional short-term resources in: 
    A. capacity building of a government information and communications technology (ICT) unit, 
    B. establishment of water sector-wide web collaboration tools, and
    C. establishment of an executive information system for water sector planning and policy and decision making;
  • Formal and informal interaction with USAID and national Ministries and other government and non-government entities involved in the water sector in Jordan;
  • Preparing or approving scopes of work and timetables for carrying out project activities; 
  • Ensuring that contractual obligations are met and that work plans are being successfully implemented;
  • Day-to-day coordination, monitoring, and supervision of technical and general office staff, project funds, and evaluation teams; and
  • Due diligence and monitoring and reporting of project results, finances and M&E plans.
