Vacancy 1:

German Konwledge Expert - through CIM Program (Integrated Expert)

The Arab Countries Water Utilities Association (ACWUA) needs your expertise to improve services in the water supply and sanitation in consideration of technical, legal and economic challenges in the region. ACWUA was founded in 2007 as the first inter-regional association of the Arab Company for water and sanitation, is a member of international organizations cooperating with the German economy (GWP, Messe Berlin) and has observer status with the Interministerial Water Council of the Arab League. One goal of ACWUA is the establishment of a neutral and independent information platform for its members to facilitate the development and sharing of sustainable solutions for the water sector in the Arab world.

Technical Advisor for the MDG+ Unit

ESCWA in partnership with ACWUA are responsible to implement the activities of the MDG+ project. The project activities aim to establish and institutionalize a regional mechanism for monitoring and reporting on access to water supply and sanitation services in the Arab countries in view of developing a knowledge platform that provides reliable data, information and analysis regarding the quantity and quality of access to water supply and sanitation services. The project is based on the MDG+ initiative that was approved by the Arab Ministerial Water Council (AMWC) and is based on the basic water and sanitation MDG indicators and refined, by incorporating a number of additional indicators, to further clarify the level and quality of water and sanitation services in the Arab countries.
