vacancy: REACH Programme Manager School of Geography and the Environment, Oxford

The REACH Programme is a 7 year, £15m programme funded by the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID). This project, led by the University of Oxford, involves a research consortium of global leaders in water science, policy and practice. It aims to increase water security for 5 million people in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia by 2022. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an ambitious research programme and global science-practitioner partnership working to deliver significant benefits for people living in poverty.

We are seeking a Programme Manager to manage the delivery of the project, report regularly on progress against milestones and budget through the production of status reports to the Programme Executive Committee and DFID. The postholder will demonstrate the motivation and enthusiasm required to help deliver this complex international programme. Key to this position is developing and maintaining a constructive relationship with DFID and the consortium partners to ensure that all requirements are delivered on time and with value for money.

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker and should have an extensive and proven management leadership including planning, managing and delivering international programmes. You must have outstanding financial management skills with experience of managing significant programme budgets to demanding deadlines. Experience of managing a team is a must.

The post is fixed-term until 31 May 2019 in the first instance.
