EEA Launches Call for Experts to Support the Second European Climate Risk Assessment (EUCRA-2)
The European Environment Agency (EEA) has launched a call for expressions of interest inviting experts to join the Thematic Expert Groups (TEGs) supporting the development of the second European Climate Risk Assessment (EUCRA-2). Building on the first assessment published in 2024, EUCRA-2 aims to provide an updated overview of Europe's major climate risks, assess adaptation options and identify priorities for strengthening climate resilience across the European Union.
Who Can Apply?
The call is open to professionals with relevant expertise in climate risk, adaptation and resilience, including researchers, scientists, practitioners, representatives of public authorities, policy specialists and other technical experts.
The Thematic Expert Groups will cover several key sectors, including:
- Water supply and wastewater management
- Freshwater, marine and coastal ecosystems
- Agriculture and food systems
- Infrastructure, energy and transport
- Health and wellbeing
- Industry, finance and governance
Selected experts will contribute knowledge, evidence and practical experience to help shape the assessment's findings and recommendations, supporting more informed climate adaptation policies across Europe.
How to Participate?
Participation requires a minimum commitment of 32 hours between December 2026 and March 2028. Contributions are voluntary and unpaid, although travel expenses are available for attending in-person meetings. Experts' contributions will be acknowledged in the final EUCRA-2 report package.
Interested professionals are encouraged to review the eligibility criteria and submit their applications through the official online form.
