SEMIDE at the international expo and conference “BIO360 Europe 2026” in Nantes

SEMIDE took part in the international expo and conference “BIO360 Europe 2026” to showcase the Horizon Europe project CRONUS. The event was held from 11 to 12 February 2026 in Nantes (France) and brought together industry leaders, policymakers, researchers and innovators to present innovative technologies, share insights and accelerate the transition towards green and circular economy.

As part of the official conference programme, Najla KAMERGI, project manager in SEMIDE and exploitation manager of CRONUS, delivered a presentation on 11 February 2026 during the session “Biogenic CO₂: Flue Gas Capture to Industrial Valorisation”. The presentation, entitled “Business model of five innovative biogenic CCUS solutions”, highlighted how biogenic CO₂ and effluent gases generated along biofuel value chains can be transformed into economically viable and carbon-negative products and shared insights on their techno-economic modelling and exploitation pathways.

In parallel with the conference session, SEMIDE organised a dedicated exhibition stand in the Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage area. The stand provided a platform to showcase and present the five CRONUS functional prototypes, enabling direct exchanges with industrial stakeholders, and project developers. Through visual materials and technical discussions led by Chourouk Ouazani and Najla Kamergi from SEMIDE, visitors explored the technologies’ operating principles, business models and potential deployment pathways across European bioenergy value chains.

Through both the conference presentation and the CRONUS-SEMIDE exhibition stand, the project fostered dialogue on how biogenic CCU solutions can contribute to emission reduction, negative emissions generation and long-term value creation, supporting Europe’s transition towards a circular and climate-neutral bioeconomy.
