PRESENTATION OF SEMIDE
The Euro-Mediterranean Information System on know-how in the Water sector (SEMIDE[1]) is an initiative of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership. SEMIDE is an instrument for cooperation between the EU member states and the countries of the Mediterranean neighbourhood, bringing together the ministries responsible for water resources in the region. Operational since the end of 1999, the Technical Unit of SEMIDE (UT-SEMIDE) is supported by the Environment Ministries of Spain, France, Malta and Italy and is based in Sophia Antipolis (France), on the premises of the International Office for Water. UT-SEMIDE is a non-profit European Economic Interest Grouping funded by contributions from its members and the implementation of EU-Med projects. The multicultural team of UT-SEMIDE is composed of 6 permanent staff members supporting the network operations and the implementation of its projects. Our organisation aims to:
- Facilitate access to existing information on expertise in the water sector.
- Develop the pooling of other useful information.
- Develop joint tools and promote the necessary cooperation programmes.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As part of the Horizon Europe project CRONUS (Capture and Reuse Of biogenic gases for Negative-emission - sustainable biofUelS), UT SEMIDE is leading the exploitation activities of the project and is currently developing the business plan of 5 functional prototypes (FPs) aiming at generating biogas/biofuels with a low or zero carbon footprint. The FPs are structured around innovative biogenic gases Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CUS) technologies, namely Algal Cultivation coupled with Enzymatic CO₂ Capture (FP1); Biological Biogas Upgrading with Hydrogen (FP2); Syngas Biomethanation (FP3); Biochar Production from Pyrolysis (FP4); Microbial Electrolysis Cell integration in Anaerobic Digestion (FP5).
UT-SEMIDE is recruiting a junior project manager that will develop comprehensive and adaptive business plans to prepare the roadmap of the market uptake of CRONUS technologies. To that end, the candidate will conduct the following activities:
- Carry out the market deployment strategy of CRONUS solutions by defining the 4P Marketing Mix (Product, Price, Place and Promotion), estimation of market size and customer segments based on the specificities of each FP.
- Define the steps for exploitation of CRONUS technologies when potential clients approach the consortium.
- Carry out the estimation of sales for each CRONUS technology over a 10-year period (2025-2035).
- Perform a SWOT analysis compared to state-of-the-art solutions taking into account their distance to market.
- Define of the guidelines for industrialisation and application of the biogenic gases CUS technologies of CRONUS
- Map out new opportunities and events for networking and conducting marketing activities and participating to selected ones.
- Deliver a final report synthesizing the final business plans of CRONUS
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Training: Bachelor's degree, Master's degree or equivalent with a major focus on renewable energy/sustainable energy system, business administration (MBA) with energy or sustainability focus, energy engineering with business option, innovation and entrepreneurship in energy.
Professional experience: Freshly graduated and beginner accepted.
Skills:
- Interest in the environmental sector and renewable energy/sustainable energy
- Expertise in business modeling and planning with applications in renewable energy
- Expertise in renewable energy markets and commercialization in the EU
- Expertise in market analysis
- Interest in the innovative and “niche” technologies’ commercialization
- Complementary skills in carbon markets and energy trading in the EU

Additional Technical skills:
- Use of IT tools, Pack Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), e-mail, surveys, graphics software
