As part of MP2025 Capital Bleu, the Mediterranean Water Institute (IME) is pleased to announce its regional conference, to be held on September 23, 2025 at the Aix-Marseille Provence Hemicycle (Marseille), with the support of the Aix-Marseille Provence Metropolis.
Theme: “Mediterranean solutions integrated into a global vision of the water cycle”
This in-person event will bring together experts and water stakeholders from across the Mediterranean (Algeria, Egypt, Spain, France, Italy, Malta, Morocco, Tunisia) to share concrete cases and field experiences.
Two round tables will structure the discussions:
- Freshwater / Saltwater Alliance: towards the convergence of water and ocean policies in the Mediterranean.
- Managing water-related risks in coastal urban areas: anticipating climate change impacts and strengthening territorial resilience.
The conference will highlight the need to rethink water and ocean governance in an integrated manner, and to identify adapted solutions to secure water access, mitigate risks related to floods and droughts, and protect Mediterranean ecosystems.
The event will be held in French and English.
