Interreg NEXT MED launches its third Call for Proposals on Sustainable Tourism
The Interreg NEXT MED Programme has officially launched its third Call for Proposals, dedicated to Sustainable Tourism, with a total budget of €8.2 million. Applications are open until 29 October 2026 at 13:00 CET.
This call is implemented under the Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism (MMM), which brings together several Interreg programmes around shared cooperation objectives across the Mediterranean region. It aims to support the transfer, adaptation and upscaling of successful solutions developed through previous Interreg projects, enabling their wider deployment across Mediterranean territories.
Supporting sustainable tourism through cooperation
The call encourages public authorities, research and higher education institutions, associations and other territorial stakeholders to build transnational partnerships around sustainable tourism challenges.
Applicants are expected to identify:
- A sustainable tourism challenge to address;
- A successful result or good practice previously developed through an Interreg project;
- Mediterranean partners willing to contribute to the transfer, adaptation or deployment of the selected solution.
Networking opportunities for project development
To facilitate partnership building, the MEDCONNECT platform is available for organisations wishing to:
- Present project ideas;
- Create and share partner profiles;
- Connect with organisations from across the Mediterranean.
More than 100 organisations are already registered and actively seeking cooperation opportunities.
A French-language networking event will take place on 3 September 2026, offering participants the opportunity to identify partners and discuss project ideas.
In addition, Interreg NEXT MED, together with the Région Sud National Authority, will organise an online information session on 11 September 2026 dedicated to this third Sustainable Tourism call. Further details, including the agenda and connection information, will be announced soon.
