At the 10th Regional Forum of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), held on 28 November 2025 in Barcelona, the foreign ministers of the 43 member states welcomed the full reintegration of Syria into the organisation.
In their Joint Statement, ministers expressed support for the Syrian Government and its efforts to rebuild the country in a way that ensures Syria’s security, stability, unity and sovereignty, as well as the safety and rights of all its citizens. They also highlighted the importance of creating conditions conducive to the sustainable and voluntary return of Syrian refugees, while reaffirming continued support for both refugees and host countries.
The Forum further endorsed the Roadmap announced by Jordan, Syria and the United States, aimed at ending the crisis in Suwayda and stabilising southern Syria, and called for its full implementation.
