Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is a specialized agency that leads international efforts to defeat hunger and improve nutrition and food security. Established in 1945, FAO works in over 130 countries to develop policies, share knowledge, and implement projects aimed at ensuring sustainable agricultural practices, enhancing food systems, and supporting rural development. By addressing global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and economic inequality, FAO strives to create a world free from hunger and malnutrition.

Forum Euroméditerranéen des Instituts de Sciences Économique

FEMISE, the Euro-Mediterranean Forum of Institutes of Economic Sciences, is a network of over 100 economic research institutes from the Mediterranean region. Established in 2005, FEMISE aims to promote dialogue on economic and social policies and enhance cooperation between Europe and its Mediterranean partners. The network conducts multidisciplinary research, fosters public and private sector dialogue, and disseminates findings to inform policy and practice. FEMISE also engages in partnerships to support sustainable development and economic integration in the region.

Global Water Partnership – Mediterranean

The Global Water Partnership-Mediterranean (GWP-Med) is a network dedicated to the sustainable management of water resources in the Mediterranean region. It focuses on promoting Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and addressing challenges such as climate change, water scarcity, and transboundary water cooperation. Through partnerships, projects, and capacity-building activities, GWP-Med works to enhance water governance, protect ecosystems, and support sustainable development across the Mediterranean.

Interreg EURO-MED

Interreg Euro-MED is a European Territorial Cooperation Programme that aims to make the Mediterranean region smarter, greener, and better governed. By funding projects managed by public administrations, universities, private, and civil society organizations, the programme focuses on innovative sustainable economies, protecting natural environments, promoting green living areas, and enhancing sustainable tourism. Interreg Euro-MED supports climate change initiatives and environmental policies in line with the European Commission's priorities for regional cohesion and development.

IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation

The IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation works to bridge gaps between science, policy, management and action in order to conserve nature and accelerate the transition towards sustainable development in the Mediterranean.
